The Church of St. Blaise

The Church of St. Blaise with its early Gothic elements dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries as well as its remarkable holy water font stand from the 9th century proudly marks the centre of Padna. On a sunny day you can visit St. Blaise, celebrated as the village patron and ally on 3 February, and enjoy a wonderful vista of the neighbouring hills, the Piran Bay and the Slovenian Alps. The church is characterised by an imposing belfry, built by the villagers in 1885 and restored in 1992.
